Platinum Membership Change FAQs

1. What is changing?

Your current Level 2 reserved seat is located within an area that will transition from an Ultimate Level 2 Reserved Seat category to the Platinum membership category. The transition will begin with the 2027 season and will be phased over three seasons. Importantly, you will still retain first access to your reserved seat.

2. Why is the Club making this change?

St Kilda renewed its tenancy agreement with Marvel Stadium in 2025. As part of this renewal, we conducted a thorough review of the classification of premium seating at Marvel Stadium, the first in over 10 years, including comparisons with other AFL tenant clubs. Seat location, viewing experience, access, and demand were also considered. A review of premium seating found that seats offering effectively the same experience were classified under different categories and price points. This change is being made to ensure seat pricing is reflective of the premium value attached to its location and fall in line with similar classification by other Marvel Stadium tenant clubs.

3. How will the transition affect my membership price?

The change will ultimately increase the price of retaining a seat in the re-classified area by approx. 35% over a three-year period. The Club recognises that this is a significant financial commitment for affected members. That is why it will be phased over three seasons. Your personalised renewal information will confirm specific pricing for the 2027 season.

In 2027, you may retain your current seat at the Ultimate Level 2 Reserved Seat price while receiving Platinum membership benefits at no additional cost.

In 2028, you may retain your seat and benefits with a 15% discount on the standard price of a Platinum membership.

From 2029, the standard Platinum membership price applicable at that time will apply, subject to the Club’s usual annual pricing review.

We believe that the location and view the seats provide in conjunction with the value included in member packs as well as other benefits ensures it still provides strong value, especially when benchmarked against other Marvel Stadium tenanted AFL clubs.

4. What are my options if I do not want to be a Platinum member?

You may request relocation to another available seat within the Ultimate Level 2 Reserved Seat category. The Membership team will explain available locations and help you identify the most suitable alternative. Relocation options will depend on availability.

5. When do I need to decide?

A relative change to pricing between an Ultimate Level 2 Reserved Seat and Platinum membership will not occur till October 2027 so there is no financial impact to your membership for at least 12 months.

6. Why weren’t members consulted before the decision was made?

We understand that affected members may have wanted the opportunity to provide input. The review involved the Club’s broader Level 2 seating classification, stadium inventory and membership structure along with benchmarking how other clubs valued seats in a similar location. Once the decision to make the change was finalised, our priority was to provide members with meaningful notice, a phased transition and an alternative relocation pathway, should members wish to exercise it.
